DOT released impact reports on Wisconsin’s major airports

It provides financial support to about 800 workers in the La Crosse area, and generates over $50 million in sales or revenue in a year.  The La Crosse Regional Airport has a growing economic impact on the Coulee Region, according to a Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation five-year impact report on the state’s eight major airports.

“The airport is an asset of our community, so it’s important to know what the airport is doing for the community and that the people of the community to understand the value that it provides – not just (getting to your destination) but for what it does for the general economy,” La Crosse’s airport director Clint Torp said.

The DOT study showed the airport supplies many thousands of dollars in local taxes and fees, as a result of activities related to flights.
