Don Weber urging council to approve $45 million La Crosse center plans

One of biggest decisions council has ever made

Don Weber is among the fans for the $45 million renovation and expansion plans for the La Crosse Center

The local developer and CEO of LHI says the expansion is absolutely essential. 

“I look at it as an investment, not just for La Crosse, but this whole region,” Weber said. “La Crosse is like a second Madison. There’s no other community in this state that’s growing and prospering like La Crosse, and we need this.”

This week, the city council will vote on the plan to improve the center which includes $35 million in borrowed money and $10 million the council hopes the state will invest in the project.  

This is one of the biggest dollar decisions the council has ever made.

Weber believes there’s no question, in moving ahead with the project. 

“I can’t imagine anyone not looking at it as an investment and what it means to our future,” he said.

Part of the plan would greatly improve the center’s sound and light systems, as well as upgrade seating and add new facades.
