Thousands heading to UW-L for meet

Thanks to the WIAA state track and field meet, traffic will be a mess, beginning Friday.

Thousands will converge at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Memorial Field for the two-day event.

Most of the delays will be on La Crosse Street and Highway 16 from I-90.

Officials say there will be three entry points on campus:

  • East Avenue at La Crosse Street.
  • Pine Street at Campbell Road,
  • La Crosse Street entrance to the Recreational Eagle.

All other streets and alleys will be blocked. Cost to park: $8 per day.
