La Crosse police investigate bank robbery
None hurt in robbery of credit union
La Crosse police say they continue to investigate a robbery of an Altra Federal Credit Union inside the Festival Foods store on Copeland Avenue in La Crosse Saturday.
Police say a man walked into the bank just after 3 Saturday afternoon and handed a clerk a slip of paper that read, “Stay calm, give me your money and no one gets hurt.” He never showed a weapon and nobody was injured.
The clerk apparently complied with the request, handing over an unknown amount of cash.
The robber got into the passenger seat of a car waiting outside the store and left.
Police used video surveillance footage to identify the car, which they later found, arresting the driver.
Police are seeking information from the public in the robbery.
