ReNEW La Crosse aiming to clean up neighborhoods

The Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers for an event this weekend.

It’s the Fourth Annual ReNEW La Crosse Neighborhoods. It’s mission is to revitalize areas of La Crosse in poor condition.

Volunteers will do yard work, painting, hauling trash to dumpsters and the like.

Amanda Acklin executive director of Habitat says to meet over the next four Saturdays.

At 8 a.m. this Saturday Acklin says to meet at the Southside Neighborhood Center to get instructions for the day, which will end at 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The other three Saturdays will go from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. around the Powell-Poage-Hamilton and Washburn neighborhoods.

To volunteer call Acklin at 608-785-2373, extension 7005. Click here for  for more information.

I also act as the voice of local sports, doing play by play of high school and college football and basketball. When not working I enjoy golfing.
