Good time to put your house on the market

Numbers, however, say sales are down

The La Crosse housing market might not be slumping as much as it seems. 

New numbers from the Wisconsin Realtors Association paint a picture of a local market that’s dragging behind the rest of the state in sales. 

President-elect of the local association Dave Snyder doesn’t see it quite that way.

“The thing with our market right now, is we have a really low inventory supply,” he said. “The market seems like it’s extremely robust. We’re getting multiple offers on properties when they come on the market.”

In other words, if you’re thinking of selling, says Snyder, now would be a pretty good time to avoid competition and get your home on the market. 

The state group measures La Crosse county home sales from February at more than 20-perent  less than February last year. And home sales statewide grew over 4 percent during that same time.
