A body found on La Crosse’s north side on Tuesday afternoon has been identified.

La Crosse police say 27 year-old Shannon Richardson had been missing for over 24 hours when police got a call early Tuesday morning from those concerned about where she might be.

She was last seen leaving a north side tavern on foot at around bar time on Monday. Police began the search for Richardson after getting the first calls on Tuesday morning using thermal imaging and examining her phone records.

Her body was found Tuesday on Caledonia street right before 1 p.m. An autopsy has been scheduled and police are still investigating.
