There’s another contest for presidential wannabees in New Hampshire on Tuesday, the New Hampshire presidential primary vote.

It’s a chance for moderate republicans to take some wind from the sails of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, says La Crosse county Republican Party chair Bill Feehan. 

The New Hampshire primary is also a place where democrat Bernie Sanders will likely get his first win over Hillary Clinton.

And, when it comes to those two democrats, which one is it the republican party actually wants to face in the election?

“I’d just as soon face Bernie Sanders,” said La Crosse republican party chair Bill Feehan, who doesn’t think there’s any way most of American ready to elect Sanders, the self-described democratic-socialist, as president. “But that’s not to say I don’t like our chances against Hillary Clinton.”

Especially if the Clinton email controversy continues.

“I’m very curious to see how the situation of her emails, 22 of which have been labeled Top Secret,” Feehan said. “How does all that play out?”
