Snow making those hitting the hills/slopes happy

La Crosse saw 9.5 inches
of snow, could get more

Reaction from one segment of the population in La Crosse on the new snow on the ground has been pretty positive.

At the top of a hill at Myrick Park on Monday, seven-year-old Nolan said that he was “excited” about the first significant snowfall of the winter and planned to spend about two hours sledding on the fresh stuff.

His 11 year-old brother Xander said he was looking forward to his first trip to Mt. La Crosse, which has finally opened this season.

Meanwhile, shovelers are working hard to dig out from the 9.5 inches that fell on La Crosse, the biggest total since January of 2014.

On La Crosse Street near the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, one homeowner said while his toes were cold and his nose a little numb, “it’s refreshing. You finally get that white Christmas. It’s a little late but it’s nice, I’m glad we get some snow this winter.” 

La Crosse had one of the highest snowfall amounts. De Soto also recorded 9.5. Winona had a little over 8. While the storm has passed, a small chance of snow is also in the forecast for tomorrow.
