Steppin’ Out In Pink a huge success
In 10 years, event has raised $400,000
Over 6,400 stepped out in pink this past Saturday. Of those, 350 are breast cancer survivors.
It was the 10th annual Steppin’ Out in Pink event to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
As of Tuesday, at least $400,000 had been raised with pledges still coming in.
Debbie Kroner, chair of Steppin’ Out in Pink, said in the first year (2006) they were just hoping for 500 walkers and to raise $5,000 but it ended up being so much more.
Proceeds from Steppin’ Out in Pink will continue to support the Gundersen Medical Foundation Oncology Research Laboratory, breast cancer patients through Paula’s Purse cancer patient fund and breast cancer awareness programs and staff education.
