Busing issues in La Crosse smoothing
School district and bus contractor talking multiple times per day
The bus transportation problems within the La Crosse School District are slowly getting better.
Superintendent Randy Nelson said the district and busing contractor First Student are communicating multiple times per day for the purpose of solidifying the current bus routes.
But there are changes coming in the very near future. Nelson said that while the routes will be similar to the old, they may not be identical because the student body changes every year.
He says the reimplementation of the old routes will take time, but they expect a transition to be completed before the end of October.
Transportation issues became apparent to the point the regional manager was let go from First Student and another is in the hiring process.
