Nursing home worker found with drugs, $2k tucked in crotch

Police watched as he tried to hide drugs, by throwing them under his car

It wasn’t that he worked at a nursing home and was busted with over 85 grams of meth.

It wasn’t that, when he was pulled over on State St., he drove three feet onto the curb, before pulling back onto the street.

It wasn’t even that, when police stopped him, they watched Daniel Johnston Jr., open his driver door and throw a wad of $560 cash and a baggie of drugs under the car.

Sure, all that’s pretty frowned upon, but the most surprising part of the stop at 5 a.m. Saturday in La Crosse was what happened when police had the Chaseburg, Wis., man in booking.

That’s where cops found $1,885, in mostly 20-dollar bills, tucked into his underwear in front of his groin.

He was charged with a slew of things, including intent to sell and OWI – the 21-year-old blew a .15.
