Funeral held for murdered children in La Crescent

Texas family’s lone survivor lives in area

LA CRESCENT, Minn. – Two weeks after a mass murder in Texas, a group funeral is held for the eight victims today in La Crescent.

The last surviving member of the family lives in La Crescent. Several motorcycle riders led and followed the procession of eight hearses from the La Crescent United Methodist Church to Prince of Peace Cemetery in rural La Crescent on Thursday afternoon.

Another funeral was held on Monday in Houston, Tex. 

A former boyfriend of Valerie Jackson is charged with shooting her and her husband, along with six underage children.

Reporters and cameras were asked to stay outside during the church service, at the request of Valerie Jackson’s family, who asked a group of motorcycle riders to make sure the media kept their distance.
