Over $100k spent to keep shelves stocked
WINONA, Minn. – Winona Volunteer Services is sharing over $8 million and almost five million pounds of food that was donated statewide a few months ago.
Director Sandra Burke told WIZM that they just received a check for $3,000 from the Minnesota FoodShare that will go toward the food pantry in Winona.
It adds to over $100,000 spent last year to make sure pantry food shelves were stocked.
Burke says it’s a much needed boost in the summer when food donations are usually down.
