Segway Vote to Bring New Wheels to City Hall

Published

on

Don’t be surprised to see La Crosse police riding around on their own Segway scooters soon.  A city council committee tonight considers buying three of the scooters that were just the subject of intense scrutiny in city hall this spring.  Two of the new Segways will be used by police and one by the city’s public works department.  It was the city’s police chief earlier this year who opposed Segways being used either on streets or the sidewalks in downtown La Crosse.  The three Segways will cost the city close to 24 thousand dollars.
