Brennan Predicts Slower Shipping Season

Maybe a little less barge traffic on the Mississippi this year.  La Crosse-based Brennan Marine predicts that for the 2015 shipping season.  The company says barge demand is flattening.  In part because farmers are storing grain at harvest rather than ship it all out at once.  Grain and cement are expected again to be the two biggest cargoes at the port of La Crosse.  And the possibility of frac sand going through the port appears to have diminished greatly with the drop in the price of crude oil.
