Business Leaders Say They Need To Chat With DOT

If a planned August 2016 DOT construction project goes ahead as scheduled, northside business owners in that area says their businesses will be greatly impacted. A final plan drawn up shows that McDonalds would not longer be on George Street. And the new road would butt right up against the Resale Store at the corner of Rose and George streets. Not to mention other problems that were brought up during a Monday meeting with city leaders and lawmakers. 
 
Nick Roush is the President of the North La Crosse Business Association. He says they have a year and a half to come to some type of agreement with the DOT.
 
 
State Representatives Jill Billings and Steve Doyle were concerned about traffic flows and safety at that intersection as well as traffic ties ups if the construction moves forward. Senator Jennifer Shilling says communication has to occur between the business owners and the DOT and soon.
