Kabat Comments On Round A Bout Tear Down

For decades, drivers in La Crosse have had to put up with some staggered north-south streets that are broken up by Cass Street, running east and west.  But the city and the DOT are getting ready to fix the traffic problem there.  The La Crosse Plan Commission voted yesterday to tear down several buildings on Cass to make way for a roundabout that would more easily connect the two halves of 7th Street.  About time, says Mayor Tim Kabat:

The properties where the roundabout would go have been bought by the city already.  Demolition could happen within the next few weeks.
