A Whole Lotta Butts

A whole gallon pickle jar of cigarette butts in a half hour.  That’s about what some La Crosse high schoolers collected from Weigent park on Monday.  Partly an Earth Day event.  Partly a tobacco awareness exercise.  But overall, says Alethia, a Seven Rivers High School sophomore, a worthwhile activity

Alethia and the other students involved in the butt picking are part of FACT, the Wisconsin youth tobacco prevention program.  Monday’s clean-up was coordinated with the La Crosse county health department.
