Police Department Referendum Should Be Settled Today
By 9am this morning, we should know whether ot not a referendum in Black River Falls survived. In Tuesday’s election, a ballot measure to let the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department take over policing duties in that city was shot down by 2 votes. But there are 3 absentee ballots left to count.
Black River Falls City Administrator, Brad Chown says the board of canvassers meets at 9 and an answer should come shortly thereafter. Though no matter how it turns out, Chown expects a recount to be called for.
