Lunda Construction Fire Damage In The Millions

Damage estimates from a fire in Black River Falls last month are in the

millions. $2.7 million to be exact. Lunda Construction said it will cost about $1.5 million to fix the structure of the building and another $1.2 million to replace equipment. The fire February 26th started during a fuel transfer in the mechanical shop part of the building. Workers were dumping fuel out of the tank of a truck when the fuel ignited and started the fire.

 

 

30 year old Joseph Kopp of Neillsville, was in the shop at the time of the fire. He ended up with burns to his leg and hands. Three fire departments battled the blaze for more than five hours.
