Western Technical College Gains Green Award

Western Technical College’s sustainability practices have earned

state recognition, and the college has been named the Green Ribbon representative for higher education in Wisconsin.

The Green Ribbon program recognizes schools, districts, and Institutions of Higher Education for reduced environmental impact and cost, improved health and wellness for staff and students, and effective environmental and sustainability education.

Western’s efforts include working to incorporate sustainability into all course curriculum, energy efficient facilities and practices, and promoting health and wellness. This is the first year the Green Ribbon Award has been open to Institutes of Higher Education.
