Koula’s Back And He Wants A New Trial

Eric Koula, who is serving two life sentences for the murder of his

parents, wants a new trial again. Koula and his attorneys have filed their case with the state court of appeals, explaining why they believe the former West Salem man should get a new trial. The appeal includes Koula’s former lawyers allowing faulty jury instructions and the judge improperly excluding evidence that supported his innocence. A similar appeal was denied at the circuit court level earlier this year. The Wisconsin Department of Justice will respond to the appeal then the court will make a decision. Koula was found guilty by a jury 2 years ago of shooting his parents then cashing a $50 thousand check from their account.
