Fire Division Chief Explains Shelter In Place Order

It had been awhile since the La Crosse Fire Department had issued a

shelter in place order before last week’s blaze at Midwest Industrial Asphalt. Craig Snyder is the department’s division chief. He explained this week why the order was put out.

Snyder told reporters this week that despite the name, the order was merely a recommendation to stay indoors. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
