How About A Non Food Drive?
Folks in La Crosse are used to taking canned food and cereal boxes to area
food collection drives. But this weekend, the Hunger Task Force is asking for items to help people stay clean and healthy. A non-food drive happens this Saturday at the Our Town store on George Street. Shelly Fortner from the Task Force says bathroom supplies and similar items are not normally donated in regular food drives:
Fortner points out that being able to get personal hygiene supplies for free could help low-income people save money to buy new clothes and other things they need.
