Fest Fees to Remain at Last Year’s Levels

Parade fees will be good for another year for Oktoberfest in La Crosse.   The city’s board of public works votes today to maintain fees for fest parades at last year’s levels: 11 thousand dollars.  City police appear to be also holding pat on what the department charges the fest organization.  So, another ten thousand dollars for police services will also be included as part of the fest bill from the city.  Parade fees were instituted a few years ago as a way to generate revenue for the city.  At one point, fest had threaten to cancel parades over the fees.
