Winona Footbridge Needs To Come Down After Being Hit

They’re looking for a crane to take down a bridge in Winona.

MnDOT is preparing to remove what’s left of a footbridge above Highway 14, after a semi hit the overpass on Monday.  Mike Dougherty of Minn-DOT says the bridge is going to be taken down as soon as possible, but he doesn’t know whether it can be repaired, or would have to be rebuilt.  The bridge connects two parts of the St. Mary’s University campus.  Highway 14 between Winona and Stockton remains closed today while the damage bridge is still standing.
