County Postpones Lakeview Bidding Until Spring
La Crosse county Administrator Steve O’Malley says the postponing of bids for
new Lakeview Health Center buildings is disappointing. The first round of bids came in $2.3 million over the anticipated $16.9 million cost. O’Malley says he knows construction companies are quite busy this time of year, and the re-bid process will now be moved to the Spring of 2015.
O’Malley tells us that re-bidding in January or February should be more favorable. Harry and Carol Griswold of West Salem and Peter and Kassandra Opsahl of Onalaska agreed to purchase the building but said they have no problem waiting another 6 months or so.
