Judge Scott Horne was ready to rule yesterday on a lawsuit against La Crosse city rental regulations…until he was told in court that the council had changed the ordinance. Now, Horne wants to read the new ordinance before he rules in the case. That ruling has been re-scheduled for Friday morning. A group of landlords went to court, claiming the city rules were unconstitutional in restricting searches of their rental properties. But the city council removed the portion of the ordinance that upset the landlords.
