No Smoking Policy Talks Continue At UW-L

UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow said a possible compromise on a campus wide no

tobacco policy is to allow smoking along the sidewalks of the perimeter of campus. Right now, no smoking is allowed on campus within 25 feet of buildings. But getting everyone to vote in favor didn’t happen last year. Now, Jason Bertrand says talks with all 4 sides involved are continuing.

Bertrand says that last year, a couple groups felt there were too many unanswered questions about the ban. UW Stout, UW River Falls and more recently, UW Stevens Point all have smoking bans.
