Sparta Police Nab Robber

A man that police believe robbed two stores in Sparta has been caught. 28

year old Jeremy Hodgkins from Sparta was arrested January 2nd for the December 27th robbery of Casey’s General Store and police says they are confident he also robbed the Family Dollar Store on December 22nd.

 

Cops says they were following up on leads and citizen tips when it became evident that Hodgkins had committed the Casey’s robbery. Hodgkins is scheduled to appear in Monroe County Circuit Court on this afternoon. His rap sheet dates back to 2003 with various drug, threats and bail jumping convictions.

The Department continues to investigate the December 27th strong armed robbery that occurred in the 800 block of Charles Drive. The suspect in this robbery took money from a person going door to door for a charity fund raiser.
