Health Department Alert……..La Crosse Center Opens For Warmth

The La Crosse County Health Department has issued a public health alert to remind people to stay indoors. For people needing shelter, accommodations have been expanded at both the Salvation Army and the La Crosse Warming Center.

The City of La Crosse and the La Crosse Center have opened the doors of the South Hall for overnight and daytime warming. People needing to get out of the cold for a few hours or a few nights can enter the center through the South Hall entrance on 2nd Street.

The La Crosse Area VOAD has mobilized the resources of its membership to provide cots, blankets, food, and volunteers to accommodate overnight shelter from the cold between the hours of 5:00 PM through 8:00 AM for tonight and Tuesday night. The La Crosse Center will welcome families and individuals.
