Rental Registration Proposals Coming to Council

Some proposals from a special committee in La Crosse could prove costly for those who don’t register their rental properties on a regular basis.  The proposed rules would, among other things, raise fines for those who don’t register.  Committee member James Cherf says the city’s rental issues go deeper than that, but the city councilman likes what the committee came up with

Six months is the length of a rental conversion moratorium in La Crosse that’s been in place since July and expires next month.  Cherf’s committee was put in place to come up with rental solutions while the moratorium has been in place.
