Holmen Preparing Community Thanksgiving 2 Days Early

If you can’t wait until Thanksgiving Day to have a holiday dinner, a pre-Thanksgiving feast is being planned in Holmen this year.

The November 26th dinner at the Holmen Legion Hall will be part of the monthly series of ‘Holmen’s Hope’ meals open to the community. Nancy Proctor, the village president, is requesting one specific menu item from village residents…home-baked pies.  Proctor says dinner organizers will be ready for about 300 guests. She says having this dinner on a Tuesday night will avoid a conflict with family events, and other community meals in La Crosse and Onalaska.

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
