MOOC Hits UW-L

UW-L is offering what’s called a Massive Open Online Course this year. A MOOC

is a free course open to anyone with an Internet connection. We asked UW-L’s Bob Hoar if you have to be enrolled at the university to take the course.

UW-L’s course, the first MOOC in the UW System, is designed to prepare students for college level math and science courses so they don’t need to take developmental math and can ultimately graduate in less time and at lower costs. Hoar will study the outcomes of the program next year.
