Trove Of Coins Stolen In Westby

Someone is holding a boat load of historical coins. Illegally. Westby Police

say someone broke into a house in the city back on August 1st and found a treasure trove of coins. Stolen coins include an 1881 Wyatt Earp silver dollar, an 1883 Geronimo silver dollar, an 1885 Charles Goodnight silver dollar and an 1890 John Fremont silver dollar. Also taken were several early 1920’s silver dollars, gold coins, and many early 1900’s pieces of coin.

 

The thief also got away with a half carat diamond ring, a 1 and a half carat diamond ring and a full carat diamond ring. There were no signs of any forced entry. A one thousand dollar reward has been posted by the Vernon County Crimestoppers.
