In No Need of Rescue?

Published

When is a rescue not a rescue at all, but more of a nuisance? The La Crosse fire department, police department and volunteer dive rescue team responded to Pettibone park late yesterday afternoon to deal with what appeared to be a guy stranded on Mississippi River ice in his boat. The same fellow has said that he had no need of rescue and intends on going back out fishing today. A representative from the dive team says, although his guys were suiting up and getting ready to help out, and the guy was certainly having a time of it, it was pretty clear by his language when he got off the water that he wanted to be left to his late winter fishing fun.
