The peak wedding season is still a few months away, but this is a time of year when couples can do serious shopping to prepare for their own celebrations in the next year or two.

Dozens of wedding-related businesses will be represented this Sunday, March 3rd, at the Mid-West Family Wedding World, inside the La Crosse Center.

Z93’s Brittany Styles says that although the event offers a lot more than wedding fashions, brides can get assistance in choosing a dress with the help of live models of different shapes and sizes.

She says visitors can walk in to a specific area at the Center, “and you go to the woman that most looks like you, right? And you pick a dress off the rack, and you say, would you please try this on for me? She tries it on for you, and then you can ask any other questions that you might have.”

Mid-west Family began hosting Wedding World events in La Crosse since the 1970’s

The exhibitors will also include caterers, photographers, and entertainment companies.

Styles says one trend that is catching on is the decision to have all the important events on a wedding day happen at the same location.

“They’re doing the ceremony, their cocktail and dinner, and the reception all in one spot, so that guests don’t need to travel to too many different locations,” she says.

Wedding World takes place at the Center between 10 am and 2 pm on Sunday.
