La Crosse’s Big Lots store among seven in Wisconsin listed as closing
La Crosse’s Big Lots on Mormon Coulee Road is among seven of Wisconsin’s 12 stores that will be closing.
The La Crosse store’s website banner says “closing soon” at the top, though an exact date for any of the stores is not known.
These are the Wisconsin stores closing:
- Fond Du Lac: 616 W. Johnson St.
- La Crosse: 3960 Mormon Coulee Road
- Menomonee Falls: N78W14511 Appleton Ave.
- Mount Pleasant: 5415 Washington Ave.
- Neenah: 699 S. Green Bay Road
- Sheboygan: 3426 Kohler Memorial Drive
- West Bend: 1690 S. Main St.
None of the three Iowa stores have been tagged to close. The only store in Minnesota closing at this point is Albert Lea.
Earlier this summer, the Ohio-based retailer said it would close 35 to 40 stores nationwide this year. That number is now over 300.
Big Lots recently reported a net loss of $200 million in a three-month period, and could file for bankruptcy, as its debt increased by $72.2 million in the past year, and now totals $573.8 million according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
