Melrose resident faces trespassing, drug charges, claims he was shot at and chased

A Melrose, Wis., man is accused of trespassing, property damage, and possessing marijuana after an arrest last week in Vernon County.

Kyle Buckles was arrested last Thursday in the Town of Franklin, near Soldiers Grove, after spending a night outdoors in chilly weather, wearing light clothing.

Officers believe Buckles might have entered a house.

He claimed that people had been chasing him and shooting at him, but deputies have not been able to prove that he was fired at or chased by anyone.

Buckles was released from jail Monday and is due back in court in early November.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
