A criminal complaint says security cameras in the store photographed Compan on July 3rd, hiding two bottles of Crown Royal in a backpack. He then brought another bottle to a cashier to say he didn’t want to buy it, and left the store. The liquor was valued at about $44.

Compan was previously charged this summer, along with his father, with beating an elderly neighbor who allegedly hit Compan’s young brother with a rock. The teenager also is accused of stealing a woman’s van and driving it into the river.
