An arrest has been made and body remains have been found, related to the disappearance of Winona’s Madeline Kingsbury.

Fravel

Winona Police stated that a body was found Wednesday afternoon in some brush off Highway 43 just north of Mabel, Minn. It is not confirmed to be Kingsbury, however.

But, it did lead law enforcement to arrest Adam Fravel “on probable cause in connection to her disappearance.” The 29-year-old is charged with 2nd degree murder with intent, not premeditated.

Fravel is the father of Kingsbury’s children.

Winona Police said multiple agencies “are working as quickly as possible to positively identify the remains. We are asking the community to respect the family’s privacy at this time and not to speculate on the case until further information is made available.”

Kingsbury, who is 26, went missing March 31, after she and Fravel dropped their children off at daycare and drove back to their apartment together.

At that time, Fravel told investigators that he then left left to do errands and Kingsbury was gone when he returned.

Twelve days after her disappearance, Fravel released a statement that read, in part, “I did not have anything to do with Maddi’s disappearance. I want the mother of my 5-year-old and 2-year-old to be found and brought home safely. I want that more than anything.”
