Simms facing charges after biggest fentanyl bust in La Crosse County
One of the suspects arrested in La Crosse County’s largest fentanyl bust is back in court, facing charges connected with that case.
Jerrad Simms and two others were arrested back in October, when police raided an apartment on Miller Street in La Crosse. About a pound of fentanyl — about $45,000 worth at the time — was discovered in the apartment.
Simms is now charged with drug trafficking, dealing cocaine and fentanyl.
He’s a repeat offender with convictions in both La Crosse and the Chicago area.
Simms has an Illinois address and was convicted on a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge in La Crosse three years ago, but has had felony convictions in Cook County, Ill.
