Driver facing several charges after hitting Coon Valley house

The South Dakota man accused of slamming his SUV into a Coon Valley house on the 4th of July is facing four separate traffic counts in Vernon County. 

Garhardt Waldner is scheduled to appear before a judge on August 3rd on those traffic citations. 

The 64-year-old Waldner went off Central Avenue in Coon Valley early Sunday morning, and drove into the side of a building, before leaving the scene. 

Police accuse him of reckless driving, hit and run, failure to keep his vehicle under control, and driving after allegedly inhaling nitrous oxide.     

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
