A Viroqua man was transported to the hospital when the sedan he was driving hit an agricultural equipment trailer attached to a tractor in Viroqua Sunday night.

The accident happened around 7:35. Timothy Goldsmith, 39, of Viroqua was driving southbound when he hit the equipment driven by Curtis Forde, 67, of Viroqua.

Goldsmith’s vehicle went off the highway and into the grassy center median. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported by Tri-State Ambulance to Vernon Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Forde was not hurt.

The incident is under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
