Police are charging a La Crosse man with resisting arrest and spitting at a jailer after a domestic fight.

Forty-year-old Chad Kelemen is accused of a felony, for allegedly spitting at the jail staffer when being booked in the La Crosse County jail on Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to a home on Caledonia Street, because a man and a woman were yelling at each other.

Kelemen allegedly became angry at his girlfriend, tried to pull her off a bed by her legs, pulled the woman’s hair and hit her.

Kelemen admitted to punching a hole in a wooden door and breaking a TV.

He couldn’t explain why there was a knife sticking into the kitchen ceiling.

Police say both Kelemen and the victim may have been drinking or using drugs before the fight.

Kelemen was sent to prison in 2018, after being convicted of trying to choke a different woman he had been dating.
