Bangor heads back to state semis, PdC eliminates G-E-T

BANGOR, Wis. — Carter Horstman rushed for 222 yards and four touchdowns in leading second-ranked Bangor back to the state semifinals for the fifth consecutive season.

The second-ranked and unbeaten Cardinals defeated Turtle Lake 28-12 in the Division 7 quarterfinals, and now move on to play fourth-ranked Edgar (11-1) on Friday in Eau Claire, Wis.

Hortsman, who scored three TDs in the first half, also had one of Bangor’s three second-half interceptions.

GALESVILLE, Wis. — Prairie du Chien is headed to the state semifinals for the first time since 1988.

PdC (11-1) will play top-seeded Lake Country Lutheran, which finished the regular season ranked ninth in the state’s Medium Division. G-E-T (11-1) finished ranked just outside the Top 10.

The only touchdown came on a nine-play, 56-yard drive, capped off by a 4-yard run by Tyler Hannah.
