A former Prairie du Chien man serving prison time for a fatal traffic accident will not get a hearing from the state Supreme Court.

William Hampton lost an appeal of his drunk-driving conviction, which he claims resulted from jury prejudice.

Hampton’s wife Renee died days after being hurt in the St. Patrick’s Day 2016 crash on Highway 18 in Crawford County.

Hampton, now two years into a five-year prison term, had claimed that his blood alcohol level of .25 was not a factor in the accident.
