A La Crosse man who was arrested last year after threatening to shoot a woman in Onalaska is sentenced to probation for weapon possession.

Thirty-five-year-old Joshua Kletzke of La Crosse entered a negotiated plea, and was sentenced to five years of probation, after serving time in another case.

Judge Ramona Gonzalez remarked that Kletzke’s family has been very supportive of him, over years of court cases.

Kletzke apologized in court to “everybody I hurt,” and pledges to stay off alcohol.

Gonzalez says Kletzke can reduce his probation to one year, if he remains sober for 12 months.

The judge said Kletzke appeared before her 16 years ago on a drunk-driving charge, and didn’t seem to take the crime seriously, even though his family did.
