Intersection near marsh becomes sinkhole after storms
Washed-out intersection located above the marsh near Myrick Park
An intersection above the La Crosse River marsh has collapsed onto a marsh trail, as a result of the Wednesday and Thursday storms in the area.
Pavement, sidewalk, sewer pipes, and power lines are in the new hole at the corner of Park Drive and North 23rd Street in La Crosse.
Deborah Dougherty lives a few houses away from the sinkhole, and says it appears that the intersection slid downhill onto a marsh walking trail.
Street crews and Xcel Energy have been working at the hole to figure out how to fix the damage.
